Dear Margaret,

I am glad you enjoyed the website. You can view the townlands in question, Johnswell and Mt Nugent, on the Heritage page of the Local Authority's website:www.kilkennycoco.ie. If you read their page carefully about the Townlands Project and follow the links they provide, you can view the landscape of these townlands and learn some of their local fieldnames. There is a cross roads at the boundary of Mt Nugent Lower and Mt Nugent Upper which is known as Quirke's Cross.

A sholar from Australia has done much research on emigrants from these parts to Ballarat, Australia and I hope to be able to put some of that information up on the website soon.

with best regards, Alan Counihan.
